Trishuli River: is a trans-boundary river and is one of the major tributaries of the Narayani River basin in central Nepal. It originates in Tibet Autonomous Region of China where it is called Kirong Tsangpo. The Trishuli is named after the trishula or trident of Shiva, a powerful god in the Hindu pantheon, There is a legend that says high in the Himalayas at Gosaikunda, Shiva drove his trident into the ground to create three springs – the source of the river and hence its name Trisuli. In the Tibetan name, the Kirong Tsangpo denotes a river flowing from or through Kirong Tibet west of Lhasa, Trisuli is Nepal’s most popular rafting river with impressive gorges, exciting rapids, some easier sections and easy accessibility from Kathmandu and Pokhara. Rafting in Trisuli is one of the most popular outdoor activities in Nepal. Trishuli River is made up of snow melt of Mt. Ganesh and Langtang Himal.
Bhote Koshi: In Nepali language, the word bhoṭe means Tibetan and the word kosi- means river.The headwaters of Point and Bhote Koshi -Sun Koshi River are located at the Zhangzangbo Glacier in Tibet. The river flows out of the Lumi Chimi lake. When entering Nepal, it is called Bhote Koshi. Further downstream, from the village of Bahrabise onwards, it is called Sun Koshi The Bhote Kosi is used for both rafting and kayaking. It is the steepest river rafting in Nepal, with a gradient of 15 m per km. Bungee jumping or swinging over the Bhote Kosi has been described as the ‘ultimate experience, The river carves a steep and direct drop at the top that gradually eases to more placid streams and calmer pools with a 46-km run at the Lamosunga dam. The rapids are class IV-V at high flow, and III at lower levels. The river is steep and continuous with one rapid leading into another.
Karnali River: The archaeological sites found in Jumla, Surkhet and Dailekh refers that this area was part of Khasa kingdom which was established during 11th century. The capital of the Khas Kingdom was Sinja. The kingdom was expanded to a great extent in l3th and 14th century. This kingdom was expanded to Garhwal in the west, Mansarovar and Guge regions of Tibet in the north, Gorkha-Nuwakot regions in the east and with Kapilvastu with large areas Terai in the South. Before the new constitution on 20 September 2015, Karnali Province was part of Mid-Western Development region out of five development regions of Nepal. The region consist 15 districts which were divided into 3 zones (subdivisions), Karnali, Bheri and Rapti. The headquarter of the development region was Birendranagar. Now, Karnali Province consist 10 Districts. All 5 districts of former Karnali Zone, 3 districts from Bheri Zone and one and half (Rukum west) districts from Rapti Zone. Now the Karnali Province consist total 79 local administrative units spreaded into 10 districts.
